• PERSONAL RETREATS
LONGER STAYS for PERSONAL RETREAT Stay 10 days, or 2 weeks, or one month in any of the above accommodations : the, Pu'uhonua House, Mango Tree Cottage, Banana Patch Cottage, Artist Retreat Studio, Main-Monastery House at reduced rates. Create a structure that includes meditation, walking to the ocean, working in the yard, swimming, study, art work and whatever you want to explore.
BREAKFAST: Breakfast includes fruits from the garden, from our Wailea Hakalau FoodSHARE and Hilo Farmers Market, homemade breads and locally made jams, fresh eggs from friends in the community and whatever gifts of food that have been generously left at our backdoor.
DAILY ZAZEN SITTING MEDITATION : Mon.- Fri. mornings from 5:20-6:20 a.m. Beginning instruction is offered. Please let Akiko know if you plan to sit.
TRANSPORTATION: A rental car is advisable. There is public bus service. Visit Hele On Bus Schedules at www.co.hawaii.hi.us/mass_transit/heleonbus.html. Our stop is "Hakalau"
GUEST ACTIVITIES: - While here, you are welcome to assist with the farm on the 2-acre grounds, participate in daily sitting meditation practice, attend tai chi & qi quong classes with Akiko, go to an occasional dinner, movie or outing with other guests and pursue your own explorations around the island... whatever you like.
